This is a rafting experience that quite simply will never be equaled - an exciting journey down a breathtaking tropical river that winds deep inside one of Costa Rica's most impressive primordial rain forests.

After being picked up at your San Jose hotel in a comfortable minibus, you will be driven through Cartago and past scenic sugarcanes and coffee plantations at the base of Turrialba Volcano on the way to the river put-in at Tres Equis.

After everyone is briefed on safety measures, an incredible rafting journey down this renowned river begins. Untouched wilderness stretches out in every direction as your raft squeezes between huge boulders and runs long stretches of powerful rapids. The thick undergrowth provides shelter for jaguars, ocelots, monkeys, sloths and myriad of species of colorful tropical birds.

A delicious lunch of sandwiches, fruits and juice will be served along the edge of the river. While the guides prepare the food, rafters have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the spectacular surroundings.

The Pacuare River provides a truly remarkable day, filled with wet and wonderful fun. At the river take out, you can change into dry clothes in our private restroom facilities before boarding the comfortable minibus for the return drive to San Jose.
