Hotel Tamarindo Diriá

The Best of the Bay
Welcome to Paradise!

The Hotel Tamarindo is the ideal place to spend a peaceful yet exciting vacation on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.

Hotel Tamarindo Diria honors the Chorotegan Indian leader, Cacique Diria, for whom it is named. The elegance and size of the establishment make it a leader in its field, and the quality of attention is a step above the rest.

Luxurious Comfort

Our 70 luxurious rooms are equipped with two double beds, air conditioning, ceiling fans, remote control cable television, direct dial telephones, radio/alarm clock, minibar (including water, liquor, beer, juice and carbonated drinks), hair drier and safety deposit box. Laundry and dry cleaning services are also available.

Recently remodeled, our new decor will create a pleasantly relaxing atmosphere. Plants throughout the building and grounds make this a very special place; in the extensive green of the tropical gardens, you can enjoy the company of the hotel mascots. Pepe is a macaw whose stunning plumage is rich in contrasting colors that will not let you forget you are in the tropics, while Clancy, a sweet baby parrot, spends most of his time whistling.

  Facilities

Experience fine national or international cuisine at the hotel's restaurant, which also offers an exuberant full breakfast buffet. Relax at either of our refreshing pools, one for adults and one for children, in the deep blue ocean or in the lush tropical gardens of the hotel grounds.

The Hotel Tamarindo also offers a bar, a boutique and a conference hall with a capacity of 150. The open-air cafe El Matapalo is open for lunches, while breakfast and dinner are served in a more formal restaurant atmosphere.

Tours and Activities

If you are an adventurer, the hotel offers a number of local tours; Tamarindo Estuary and Marino Baula National Park are just two of the places you can arrange to visit. A simple walk provides you with the opportunity to watch birds and monkeys. Scuba diving and water skiing are also available and, if you like to fish, marlin, sailfish, tuna, roosterfish, snapper, grouper, amberjack and Spanish mackerel are among the species found in these waters.

Fine Dining

Our chef, Manolo Gonzalo Navarro, is a graduate of the Instituo Angellucci. Five years studying in Italy and a wealth of experience in Brazil, Venezuela, Italy and the former Czechoslovakia have made him a culinary artist. Chef Manolo makes everything himself, from scratch; pasta, bread and, of course, the entrees.

Different days of the week offer different ethnic fare at the Tamarindo: Monday is Italy, Tuesday is Spain, Wednesday is Costa Rica, Thursday, Friday and Sunday are a la carte, and Saturday is a beach barbecue with 32 salad toppings. However, if you crave typical Middle Eastern, Indian, Japanese or other dishes, Chef Manolo will be happy to prepare you something special.
