Costa Rica Hotels Wildlife

Jade y Oro is a cozy and lavishly decorated Spanish-style building originally built as a private residence; it has since been beautifully restored and comfortably furnished as a small hotel.
Built in l941, the house retains its original structure and design, with its high ceilings, inner archways, chimney and original Portuguese tile floors and bright tropical flowers.
The house was redecorated by the daughter of its original owner, Amalia Jimenez Volio, an artist who grew up in the house. Jimenez-Volio added a cheerful tropical touch to the house's colonial sobriety, filling its inner courtyards with colorful, modern furniture, typical Costa Rican crafts and paintings of her own, featuring mostly tropical flower motifs.

Ten rooms with private bathrooms, showers only. Seven rooms are single with a double bed, and three Deluxe rooms have two double beds. With ceiling fans, no air conditioning is needed. Children are welcomed, as well as well-behaved pets. No smoking is permitted in the rooms.

Full Breakfast includes: a variety of fruits, typical food, tea, and delicious Costa Rican coffee.

There is an evening Happy hour with complimentary wine and cheese.

There is color cable TV as well as 24-hour security and medical assistance. The hotel is in a very quiet neighborhood, yet very close to downtown, restaurants, cinemas and the biggest Mall in town
