Hotel Sugar Beach is located in the Guanacaste
Province of north-west Costa Rica, 5 kilometers north of Playa Potrero. The climate in this area is much drier than other parts of
Costa Rica, an advantage for those looking for sunshine. Activities to be
enjoyed in the area include snorkeling trips, picnics on secluded beaches,
horseback riding, visits to National Parks, deep sea fishing, surfing,
mountain biking and much, much more.
Located in a 24 acre property, the Hotel sits alone on the private beach of Pan de Azucar. Nature is evident all around, the sounds of birds, monkeys and the sea create a sense of awareness and relaxation.
The resort rooms are among the largest in Costa Rica, and offer privacy, large decks, satellite TV, mini bars, phones, air conditioning and views of the ocean. The resort also has a gift shop and a continental breakfast is included with all rates.

Standard Rooms
Twelve rooms, all with garden view. They feature a large patio surrounded by green landscaping, two queen size beds, ceiling fans, phones, and air-conditioning. These rooms have been constructed in six bungalows that are positioned to give maximum privacy and some view of the ocean. Two of these rooms have a bathtub, and one has a king sized bed.
Deluxe Rooms
Ten rooms with great ocean views. They feature a large patio with furniture surrounded by green landscaping, air-conditioning, two queen sized beds, ceiling fan, phone, a color TV and a minibar. These rooms have been constructed as bungalows and offer the best views at the resort.
Catalina Suite
This beautiful, ground floor suite features two bedrooms (1 w/ king bed, 1 w/ 2 queen beds) and a living room. It also has a 27" color TV, phone, kitchenette (includes refrigerator, tableware & cooking utensils), 1 bathroom and one of the best locations on the property. You are only yards from the beach and restaurant!
Palm and Coconut Suites
These newly renovated second story suites are identical. Palm faces north and Coconut faces south, both have beautiful ocean views. Each features one bedroom with queen bed, color TV, phone, minibar, air-conditioning, balcony overlooking the ocean. Be lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean lapping against the beach.
Honeymoon Suite
This newly renovated suite has one of the best sea views of the resort. Just lovely! It has one king sized canopy bed, air-conditioning, color TV, phone, small refrigerator, large bathroom with large tiled shower, and a balcony with a hammock and an incredible view of the ocean.
Beach House
Two bedrooms with two double beds, one bedroom with a king size bed, 2 bathrooms. Also has a color TV, phone, kitchen (equipped with refrigerator, tableware & cooking utensils) and living room. The house can be rented with two or three bedrooms. Enjoy fantastic ocean view from private patio.
The Grand Villa
NEW! Our beachfront Grand Villa is tucked away on the southern edge of Playa Pan de Azucar. From this tranquil spot, guests enjoy the added privacy with full access to the Hotel's facilities.
This two story Spanish Colonial home has five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large living / dining room, full kitchen, second story deck and saltillo tile porch with wet bar, BBQ, table, chairs and lounges. All with breathtaking Ocean Views!
Bedrooms have AC, ceiling fans or Ocean breezes.
