Nestled in the foothills of the popular yet pristine Central Pacific Coast, LaPalapa is a private and comfortable base from which to explore and experience the nature of Costa Rica.

LaPalapa is ideally located outside the village of Portalon, just minutes away from two of Costa Rica's finest beaches.

 The vast public beach, Playa Matapallo, is located just three km from LaPalapa. However, LaPalapa guests have private access to the beach at the mouth of the Portalon River that is at the southern end of the Manuel Antonio National Park. This access is an easy nature walk through the Mangroves filled with wildlife and an experience not to be missed. The LaPalapa staff will send you off with a picnic cooler for a memorable all day adventure.

Additionally, guests may enjoy a short but challenging 9-hole golf course that will be playable in 2003. Other recreational activities include kayaking, tennis and horseback riding to several area waterfalls. Ocean excursions aboard the sailing catamaran "LaPalapa" may also be scheduled and sails out of the port at Quepos.

Accommodations at LaPalapa consist of modern, well equipped, individual one bedroom 700 square foot cottages newly constructed in 2001. Our cottages comfortably accommodate two adults. Bedrooms are equipped with twin, standard or queen sized beds. Comfortable inflatable beds are available for extra guests.

For your convenience, a modern kitchen is available in each cottage. You may may also choose to dine in the restaurant or one of the many interesting restaurants in the area. Continental breakfast is included but a more elaborate breakfast menu is available. Lunch and dinner service is also available. A Tilapia fish lake is on the drawing board which will allow guests to catch their own dinner which we will be happy to prepare.
