Valle Escondido is a "hidden valley" of 250 acres in the northern mountains of Costa Rica, between San Ramón and the Arenal Volcano, half of which is a protected nature reserve dedicated to the conservation of the ecology and bio-diversity of this tropical rainforest. With many trails through the forest for hiking or taking a horseback ride to the river, our guests have the opportunity to observe the flora and fauna of this region of our country.
The property also has a large farm of tropical ornamental foliage plants cultivated for export as houseplants, a small greenhouse of local varieties of orchids, a fishing pond, and a tiny chapel overlooking the valley.
The hotel accommodations include finely decorated rooms with beautiful views of the mountains, an excellent restaurant with typical Costa Rican foods and Italian cuisine, a bar, a swimming pool, and a jacuzzi.
From the hotel we can arrange day trips into San Carlos to tour the Arenal Volcano and enjoy a dip in her thermal hot springs, take a boat ride through the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, explore the Venado Caverns, or "do" a canopy ride in the cloud forest.
To make your travel plans easy, we also have put together special packages for the "green season" with fine hotels in San Jose and on the pacific beach, with transportation included. For the guest's privacy, the
rooms at Valle Escondido are located in small buildings about 150
meters from the restaurant and other areas of social activities, all
connected with sidewalks and ramps. The hotel rooms offer the comforts and facilities of a first class hotel. Each room has two beds, a large private bathroom with hot water, fan, closet, and a vanity and bedside tables. The windows face the east so you can watch the sun rise over the mountains. |
